By December 13, 2021No Comments

First of all, congratulations on officially launching your new website! Launching a new website for your business is a big deal and no easy accomplishment. And an extra special thank you if you went through Webaholics to build your website! We appreciate all of our clients and we love to create sites that you love. We want to give you some steps to take after your website goes live!

Your website is something that will need constant care and support. It’s not a one-and-done type of situation. There are multiple steps you can take to continue to grow your site and boost your site visits/online sales. Having good content and an easy user experience provide you with a huge improvement in rankings and conversions.

You’ll have to focus your efforts outside of your new site as well if you want continued growth and improvements. Here are 7 steps you can take to ensure your website continues to be successful.

1. Constantly and Consistently Build Your Content

The main reason that people come to your website is content. It could be your e-commerce store’s products, your blog, entertainment, etc. You will need to implement value into your site’s content to keep people interested.

A blog is a great way to keep adding fresh content to your site. Your blog will need consistent updates to ensure that people keep coming back to view your new posts. It will also give Google a reason to continuously re-crawl your website so you stay relevant with internet searches

Updating your content continually can help with many parts of your website including:

    • Increasing customer engagement
    • Influencing conversions
    • Improving your SEO
    • Generating new leads
    • Establishing yourself as an expert in your industry

You can also use landing pages for your promotions. A landing page is a page on your website that stands alone. They are specifically created for an advertising or marketing campaign. When your customer clicks on an ad, they are redirected to a landing page. You can use landing pages to improve your conversion rates by creating a page that is conversion-oriented and focused on your intended audience. Here’s an example of one of Shopify’s landing pages.

Meta descriptions are another important aspect of creating content and boosting your SEO rankings. A meta description appears on search engine result pages. They give a brief summary of the page before you click on the link. Utilizing meta descriptions can help boost your SEO and search engine rankings. Here’s Webaholics’ meta description on Google.

2. Make Any Necessary Updates

This is the best time to update other pieces of your marketing strategy to match your website. Preparing Google to work with your website is one of the most important things you can do after your site goes live.

    • Google Analytics:
      • Log into your Google Analytics account and make sure Google is tracking your website visitors
      • Some metrics you should be tracking include bounce rates, page views, average time spent on your website, etc.
      • You can use Google Analytics to keep track of your goals and conversions on your site. This data can help you see how well our site is performing and what improvements you may need to make in the future.
    • Google My Business:
      • Google My Business is a great tool that you can use to manage your overall business presence on Google.
      • Continuously adding photos and new posts will help boost your performance on the search engine.
      • On Google My Business, you can also post business promotions and request testimonials from your customers.
    • Google Search Console:
      • If you want your future customers to be able to find your business, your website needs to be indexed properly on Google.
      • Make sure that your site is verified on Google Search Console. Also, make sure that your site can be indexed and your settings aren’t set to no-index.

3. Update Your Social Media

Your social media will need some updates after creating your new website. Start by updating your followers about your new website! If you have a new domain name, make sure to update your website in your bio and let your customers know about the switch.

Social media can be extremely valuable for your business. Updating your social media frequently can help boost your content and encourage followers to interact with your business. This goes hand in hand with building your content as we mentioned earlier.

4. Add Customer/Client Reviews

Customer reviews are a great way to build trust with new and potential customers. They show that you have a distinguished business and happy prior customers. Ask your clients or customers to write some fresh reviews to help promote your new and improved website. Displaying reviews helps users get reassurance that you know what you’re doing and that they can trust you with their personal information.

5. Set Up Your Business Listings

Even though physical directories are becoming a thing of the past, online directories have become a major factor in driving traffic to your website. Many of these directories are free and it should only take a few minutes to get your business added to them. Some of the places to list your business include:

    • Yelp
    • Google My Business
    • Yahoo
    • Facebook
    • Apple Maps

6. Promote Your Website

Once your website goes live, you will want to get the word out about your new website. Like we mentioned earlier, update your social media and let your followers know the exciting news. Another place to make your announcement is a client newsletter.

Newsletters can be a great way to communicate with your clients and possibly new clients as well. Announcing your new website in your newsletter is a great way to get your current customers and possible prospects to see your website without spending a lot of money.

Writing a blog post is another great way to let your customers know about the new site. You can explain the thought process behind the design, which features you focused on, and any new and exciting aspects you added.

Make sure to also add your new website to your and your employee’s email signatures. This will allow anyone who receives an email from you easy access to your site.

7. Learn The Basics of SEO

Educating yourself on SEO is a great step to take after your website goes live. SEO plays a major factor in getting your website to be seen by your target audience. There are many different SEO factors that determine how your site will rank with various search terms. You’ll need to combine multiple SEO techniques to help with your search rankings, no one technique will assure your success. Some important SEO factors include:

  • Content
  • Social Media
  • Meta Descriptions

These factors can boost your online presence and your rankings when it comes to SEO. This will help your website generate more leads and also increase your conversion rate.

There are so many different things you can do after your new website goes live. Your website is something that will require consistent support on a daily basis. Starting with these tips will help ensure that your website remains successful as the months go on.
