Why you need a Website, Small Business Edition

By May 29, 2018 No Comments

Why in the world would you need a website?

Everybody knows that having a website is important. But then why do so many people settle for mediocre or even straight up terrible websites for their business? At Webaholics, we see some pretty interesting sites that we get to transform into something great.

There are some pretty simple reasons why you should have a website, like, your customers can always go to the website if they have questions after hours, or so you can show up on Google search results, or even just because your competition has one.

Whatever your reasons may be, we want to cover some maybe lesser known reasons that it’s a good idea to have a website.

Your customers expect it!

You may not see the need to put your business online, but your customers expect you to be there. 100% of online searches happen on the internet. More than 60% of consumers look for some type of content from their favorite brands on that particular brands’ websites.

If you aren’t willing to be competitive with your competition, your customers may go somewhere else, and if you’re ok with that, then you can probably stop reading now. But if you’re like us, then you know the importance of being competitive and giving your customers a better experience.

You get control and your customers get proof!

With your own website, you get to control at least one place where things get said about you. This is your chance to show your products in their best light and tell about the best experiences people have had with your product or service. And when it’s there, your customers will be able to find the proof they need to purchase your products as well.

People would rather go to the source for their information and see what you have to offer rather than some other source. You know more about your business and products than Walmart or some other third party vendor does, and this is your chance to tell more of your story. No one else gets to sell their stuff on your page and this is your chance to control what the consumer will see.

It can be a resource for you and your staff!

You can put information online that only you and your staff can access, so you can store directions, pieces of training, pricing sheets, notes, and really anything you want online on your website.

One of the best things about doing this is that no one will know it is there except for you and the people you give access to. This is a widely under-utilized tool that is often overlooked
